Technology has infiltrated most everywhere in our lives and made many things easier for us. Today's steelheaders can stay connected with cell phones and internet for real time GPS maps, weather conditions, river conditions, and more. Many steelheaders find it impossible to fish without their ear piece with hands free auto answer, so that they can keep fishing without interruptions when they have a call. They can even send a photo of the 30-incher they just released with text message details. All of this is possible without leaving the water. 

All the high tech wizardry we use today helps us stay connected, but it can never make us better steelhead fisherman. Despite access to so much information steelhead fishing is not touched by this modern world and being successful relies on another valuable tool: EXPERIENCE. Every day on the river is different and poses subtle challenges. The experience of understanding and overcoming these challenges often separates those who are catching and those are watching others catch. For veteran steelheaders: Parties of two are preferred and up to three anglers per party can be accommodated on most rivers. Usually parties of four or more will be split into two groups with two guides fishing different sections of a river system.
