Mark Hardy - Winter 2006

New to the game, waders in the box, we dressed and started down the river on a new adventure, one Mark will remember forever.  Never using a fly rod before, Mark had know idea what he was going to experience this day. I was not surprised that he really caught on fast and understood the science behind casting a fly rod. In twenty minutes he was looking like he had fly fished many times before.  Next we went over hook set, float fishing, and rigging and he also learned about reading water, loosing fish and brake-offs, that pretty much covers it.

Loosing fish and brake off are common to first timers, what is important is knowing where to cast, the bite and hook set, the rest will come with practice.  Mark learn quickly which resulted in many hook ups and landed fish this day. It was a real pleasure fishing with Mark and my guess is he will have a great spring.
